A PRIVATE RENAISSANCE

A PRIVATE RENAISSANCE

FROM SPANZOTTI TO DEFENDENTE FERRARI
IN PIEDMONTESE COLLECTIONS

An exhibition curated by Serena D’Italia, Luca Mana and Vittorio Natale

From October 21, 2022 to January 29, 2023

Giovanni Martino Spanzotti, Giovanni Canavesio, Gandolfino da Roreto, Gerolamo Giovenone, Bernardino Lanino and Defendente Ferrari are just some of the protagonists of the new exhibition that the Accorsi-Ometto Foundation proposes in its rooms.

The exhibition is divided into six sections: PRECURSORS | PATRONS | THE LARGE POLYPTYCHS DISSAMBLED AND RECONSTRUCTED DECORATIVE FURNITURE | IMAGINING SAINTHOOD | DEFENDENTE FERRARI AND RENAISSANCE PAINTING IN PIEDMONT BETWEEN TRADITION AND INNOVATION. Thus, we want to investigate the various aspects of Piedmontese Renaissance artistic history, such as figurative production, the relationships between workshops and the fortune of collecting, starting from the beginnings and analyzing their  different languages.
